On 20.01.1994: The Viet Nam Minister of Health signed the decision to establish the General Clinics of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the clinics went for official working on 10.04.1994.

  On 18.10.2000: The Viet Nam Minister of Health signed the decision to establish the University Medical Center  of  the HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy from the combination of three clinics -  the General Clinics of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Clinics of the faculty of  Nursing and Medical Techniques and the clinics of the faculty of Traditional Medicine . which included 300 beds, 6 operating rooms and 16 clinical and laboratory departments.
  After 6 years of working and upgrading, there are 4 branches, 500 beds, 52 consultation rooms for every specialty and 18 operating rooms  with hi-tech equipment in the university hospital.

  The University Medical Center has applied the high techniques in diagnosis and treatment to give the best health services to our customers with the reasonable hospital charges.  

  The University Medical Center has the physicians with the titles of Professor, PhD, Ms of  Medicine and Surgery who are in the top level of specialists and lecturers of the HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy giving the health services to not only for Vietnamese but also for  foreigners.  

  The University Medical Center also has the function of training and transfer the advanced techniques to the doctors from the secondary and level of health care.   

  The Center for Hi-Tech Health Care Which belongs to the University Medical Center conducts the scientific researches and applies the high techniques in diagnosis and treatment.
